Arm Candy

Below is a video from a few months ago. Little B was practicing some tummy time when he found his arm and it was clear he was more interested in filling his tummy than spending time on it!
Seems so long ago looking back at it now, he has grown so much!

Watch "Arm candy?" on YouTube

Pic of the day

Breton has his first tooth! Which means there has been a lot of extra drool and tears for the poor little guy. Thankfully he can find some relief from his teething toys!

Upgrade

He's upgraded from the baby bassinet to the big boy stroller!

Play time

It's so fun to watch Breton grow and change. Even the most subtle differences seem like biggest developments in his life right now. I think back to the tiny little newborn who only slept and ate and made little coos as he slept and realize how quickly he is changing.

He is no longer the "silent type" that he was the first few months. I think we have a chatty boy on our hands as he loves to hear himself make noise almost constantly, (he got that from one of his parents... but it wasn't me ). We are beginning to see his little personality come through and it makes me anticipate the future even more.

Lately he has been enjoying a new play mat lent to us by a friend. It's great for him to just chill, play with his toys, practice some tummy time and for nap time too!

Here he is enjoying his play mat to the fullest! As you can see, toes are just as fun as toys, a face can be the best entertainment, and a thumb serves as a great pacifier!

Our Active Little Man

Here is a little video to help bring a smile to your Monday. Nothing too exciting, but I find it hilarious and adorable when I watch Breton in his pack n play. He loves kicking the hanging toys and the hearing the bells jingle. I think we have a busy little guy on our hands!

A few minutes later... tuckered out!

I knew before he came that he was going to be awesome.

Tracking my progress via selfies for my mom and sisters.

When he arrived, he was awesome, just as I had expected.

I just didn't realize how awesome he was going to be.

I held and cuddled with him in bed all day the first day. It was the best thing ever.

He was so tiny, and so perfect. We couldn't get over how perfect he was.

This new level of love I was feeling was overwhelming. I couldn't wrap my mind around it. I felt that my heart was so stretched that it was going to explode. Every mom I've talked to agrees with me ;)

I wondered how on earth I could possibly ever love another kid as much as I love him.  I've since found out that pretty much every mother wonders the same thing!

only 12 hours old
Everything about him drives me crazy. I simply can't get enough.

Normal everyday things just seem so funny and cute...

 (Like his yawns)

 and everything else...

Even the back of his little head!
He rocks the mullet quite nicely.

My mom put it nicely when she said "They bring their love with them." I don't think Uriah and I quite knew we were in for the best time of our lives :)

I present...

The "Pee-pee Tee-Pee"

I received a pack of these "pee-pee tee-pees" in the mail from my mom. Why might you say these are necessary?

For moments like this of course!
The above picture is from when Breton was around a week old.
Let's just say that Breton has great aim, and the pee-pee tee-pees can come in handy :)

Bi-coastal Baby

We had a wonderful trip to Washington state a few weeks ago. We were nervous about taking Breton on such a long flight, but he did just fine. I researched beforehand on how to fly with babies and there were a lot of helpful tips. He slept all through the flights, thankfully!
The biggest challenge was the time difference. At that time he was usually waking up around 6 am, which is 3 am on the west coast! This made for some awake nights and groggy days.
My dear friend Alex came down from BC and stayed with us in downtown Seattle for the weekend. She has recently become quite the coffee connoisseur so she enjoyed hitting up a few different coffee shops around Seattle, which is pretty much the coffee Mecca of the world! We also discovered a city Target which was only a few blocks from our hotel! It doesn't take much to make me happy :)
It was wonderful to see my dear friend. Since meeting six years ago we have managed to see each other at least once a year, despite each of us living in different places, quite literally all over the continent.
The following days were spent with John, Ruth Anne, and their four kiddos (one being just three weeks younger than Breton!), Juleea, Adrien and their two boys, and Grandpa and Grandma. Our friend Jay, who we met in Alaska about six years ago also joined us for a day of skiing! It was the first time for all of them to meet Breton. He is such a lucky little boy to have so many people who love him!
We rented a house in the Snoqualmie Pass, which is in the beautiful Cascade mountains. It is only about an hour from Seattle, so we didn't have to go too far for our skiing getaway.

Below are some photos from the trip:

We got this fabulous seat called "flye baby". It hooks to the tray table and allows baby to sit comfortable, facing you, and you can go hands free!

He and his brothers can sleep ANYWHERE. He had worked nonstop up until our trip, this was a much needed nap on the airport floor.

This was a sweet moment when Breton and Brennan met. They were both pretty excited. Besides looking in a mirror, this is the first baby Breton has ever interacted with. They were both full of smiles.

Had to delete a few dozen of these photos :) Of course I kept a few too!

Alex & I in front of the space needle! We did the tourist thing and went up too!

I think there was mutual love between these two. Even though Breton didn't exactly give her a full night's sleep.

The boys and Isabella loved wrestling!

Cuddles with Grandma

Sorry about the spit up, Grandpa!

A hot tub with scenery. The mountains were nice to look at too! ;)

Little snugglebug!

Like I said, lots of "selfies" from the little miss!

There is a "gum wall" in Seattle. It was gross but also fun to see.

He just wasn't interested in the local Seattle landmarks.

View from the house

We miss this precious little face!

He's a pro at this now!
