Winter has its perks...

saw this all season at target and couldn't spend ten dollars on it.
well guess who finds it on clearance for $2?
me! oh yeah.
and now it hangs on my 70's front door.
Joy. such a good word.

living in a creaky old house with [no] insulation, it can be hard to appreciate the winter.
Not to mention the bone chilling cold of the Midwest (you Alberta folks know), our house does not have gutters so I find myself falling - gracefully (ha!) - on the Ice.

Along with Christmas, snow, snowboarding, snowflakes and snowman themed stuff... there are many perks to winter.

Here are my personal favorite perks:

I love love love love tea.
One, it reminds me of Dad (of course) but it also reminds me of the
long, deep chats Alex and I would have after class in the Soo.

I am always freezing.... I'm pretty sure I get that from Mom ;)
In her fabulous package she sent me for christmas, she included this AWESOME
blanket which is displayed nicely on our bed while its not in use in the living room to keep me warm.
I got a pillow from Target to fit the matching pillow case it came with. When Uriah saw it, he said "Oh, I thought this was a case to hold the blanket"
teehee. he's so cute sometimes. sometimes.

Dear Pomegranates,
*sigh* I love you.
Thank you for saving Winter for me.

All summer I wait anxiously until they show up in the produce section again!
When they do, I buy three, hoard them so Uriah doesn't see and try to eat them all by myself.
It was a sad day when Uriah discovered that he liked pomegranates.

Cinnamon hearts!(insert more exclamation marks here)
Although they look like they have some kind of fuzz in the photo, which is just powder I guess, they are AMAZING!

See? there are lots of things to help the winter months not drag by :)
